"Touch a person in need" is the local food bank and donation center for Barrington. It is located under the library, and is open for donations M-F 9-12. It is run entirely by volunteers. They take donations all year, but at Thanksgiving, they need items from this list by about 11/12 for Thanksgiving bags. They are also happy to arrange tours/times to help at other times. Please contact Tap-In directly for more information. Community Farms for RI Food Bank Farms need help with harvesting from spring to fall. Barrington Farm School Local community farm which welcomes volunteers of all ages. Good Neighbors Soup Kitchen and Community Resource Recently relocated from Bristol to East Providence, they are a soup kitchen but also a community resource for those in need. They are in special need of personal care items, such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. Please contact them directly for more information. RISPCA Many troops have enjoyed their trips to the RISPCA, bringing pet donations with them as part of the service. Clothing exchange at the White Church (more information to follow). A local resource that offers multiple programs for Scouts, from field trips, evening programs, and overnights. Badge-associated activities are available. RIMOSA (RI Museum of Science and Art) A new interactive museum in Providence that will run group events on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. See their website for more information. Rhode Island Resource Recovery Program They have multiple educational flyers, and posters, and ways for girls to help improve recycling in their homes and schools. Program Planning and OVERNIGHTSThis is now available with the Volunteer Tool Kit through GSUSA. If you are a leader, you can log into MyGS and choose Tool Kit. It will allow you to plan your entire year, provide ideas, projects, shopping lists, etc. Pinterest is also a good resource.

Quick active games requiring little to no equipment, adaptable to Daisys through Cadettes. Videos with demonstrations of how to play allow leaders or scouts to learn how to teach the game easily. They also help maintain the Touisset Marsh and Wildlife Refuge in Warren which offers a great location for a Daisy/Brownie level hike, about 15 minutes from central Barrington.
